Your money, a month at a time.
MAAT is a budgeting app for households and for anyone whose income goes up and down. See what’s safe to spend, plan paydays and bills together, and leave no stone unturned.

If you earn a paycheck, MAAT is for you
Salary, hourly, tips, gig work, commission or a mix of all of them: MAAT is built around how money actually arrives, not a perfect month that never happens. Every day you’ll know three things: what’s safe to spend, what’s coming, and whether anything slipped through.
Why people switch to MAAT
One number you can trust
Safe to spend counts the bills and paychecks already on the way, your savings goals and a cushion you choose, then tells you what’s left. Right now, not at the end of the month.
Made for uneven income
Steady pay turns tips, gig and commission income into a regular paycheck you pay yourself. The forecast uses the low end of what varies, so a slow week doesn’t catch you out.
Catches what slips through
Payment check confirms every bill and paycheck as it arrives, and flags one that’s missing, late or a different amount, so a failed autopay doesn’t turn into a late fee.
Warns you before, not after
Heads up warns you before a bill would take checking below $0, spots charges that are much bigger than usual or from somewhere new, and watches for refunds you’re owed.
Built for two (or more)
Share accounts, bills and goals with a partner or roommate, see who owes whom, and check with each other before big purchases. Each person gets their own fun money, and private purchases stay private.
Every paycheck has a plan
The paycheck planner shows which bills each paycheck must cover and what’s left after. Self-employed? It sets aside part of each payment for taxes and shows the next estimated tax date.
Find money you’re losing
MAAT finds the subscriptions in your transactions, shows what they add up to each month, and helps you cancel or lower them. Monthly insights show what changed and where the money went.
Plan ahead without spreadsheets
Goals with a monthly amount to reach them, a debt payoff plan (smallest balance first or highest interest first), holidays and birthdays, and What if… for a raise, a new bill or a lost job.
Your data, your rules
No ads, and your data is never sold. Link your bank securely through Plaid, or import files for free. Export everything or delete your account any time. In English and Spanish.
Coming from Mint? Bring your history with you.
Mint shut down in 2024, and many people still have their Mint export file. MAAT reads it directly: your transactions and categories come in, matched to your accounts, with a preview before anything is added. We read Monarch Money and YNAB exports too, plus bank files (CSV, OFX, QFX and QIF). Importing the same file twice never adds anything twice.
Our goal: your first choice for budgeting
We want MAAT to be the budget app people pick first and recommend to friends, and we know that’s earned, not claimed. So:
- We keep improving. New features and fixes ship regularly, and every update is listed in plain words under What’s new in the app.
- You help decide what’s next. Request a feature or report a bug right in the app, vote on what matters to you, and see when it changes status.
- We work to earn your trust. A plain-words privacy policy, no ads, no selling your data, your bank password never seen by us, and a security plan we review with every change.
Give it a free try
When MAAT opens, every new household starts with a free 30-day trial with everything included, and no payment details are needed. After the trial, adding accounts by hand and importing bank files stay free.
Why “MAAT”?
MAAT stands for Month At A Time, the rhythm most bills and budgets run on. It’s also a nod to Ma’at, the ancient Egyptian idea of balance, truth and order, often shown as a feather on a scale. That feather is our icon: money in balance, a month at a time.
